How to add images from Google Drive or Dropbox to a Canva design
Brand assets and photos often live in a shared drive, not on your computer. Here's how to get them into a Canva design without the download step.
The usual way
Download the images from your drive, then drag them from Downloads into Canva's Uploads panel. Canva can connect to some drives as apps, but that means granting Canva access to your drive, and it doesn't cover every drive.
The faster way: copy in your drive, paste in Canva
With the FilePaster Chrome extension:
- In your drive, select the images and press Alt+Shift+C (⌥ Option+Shift+C on a Mac).
- Open your design in Canva and press Alt+Shift+V (⌥ Option+Shift+V on a Mac).
The images are added to your design, the same as pasting an image you copied on your computer. This works for PNG, JPEG, GIF, WebP and AVIF images. For other files, such as PDFs or videos, use Canva's Uploads panel.
This works the same with Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive and SharePoint, so it doesn't matter which drive a client uses. You don't connect your drive to Canva: FilePaster only downloads the files you copy, using the sign-in already in your browser.
FilePaster also works with images on other websites: drag an image from one tab and drop it on another site as an image file.
FilePaster copies files and folders from Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive and SharePoint and pastes them into any website or a folder on your computer. 7-day free trial, then $29 a year.
